About Handy Bros ClimateCare

Keeping homes comfortable, healthy and safe for over 50 years.

It was back in 1959, in a small backyard garage located in Blenheim, Ontario, that Jack and Murray Handy started their air conditioning and heating company called Handy Bros.  The company grew quickly, thanks to the quality of care, comfort and reputation for excellent service that Jack and Murray earned with their customers.

The company outgrew the original location and moved to a new building in 1981, expanding to include 15 employees. In 1990, Jack and Murray retired and the business was purchased by Dan Lenover and Harold Vanderende. Dan and Harold had almost 40 years of combined experience in the HVAC industry between them. Under their care, the business continued to grow due to their reputation for quality and outstanding service.

In 1994, Handy Bros. joined the ClimateCare Cooperative, a group of HVAC contractors in Ontario. And while our name has changed, and Dan has retired, we are still known for outstanding service, quality products and affordable prices throughout the Chatham and Kent area.

Dan Lenover retired in 2006 and now Handy Bros. ClimateCare is once again owned by two brothers.  Harold’s younger brother Laurence VanderEnde, had been an employee of Handy Bros. for 27 years before he decided to join his brother at the top.  Laurence brings to the table an abundant amount of  experience in the residential new and retrofit market.

Every one of us is still committed to keeping your home healthy and comfortable. And as we continue to expand our business, with more top quality brands and products, there’s one thing you can count on: we will always be just as committed to your comfort as we were the day we opened our doors in that garage over 50 years ago.
