Running for a Reason – Handy Bros. Heroes Raise Nearly $19K for CTC!
Showing up for our community is kind of OUR THING—and we were proud to lace up and do just that at the recent 5K Run/Walk for the Children’s Treatment Centre and Foundation of Chatham-Kent!
The Handy Bros. Heroes team had an absolute blast hitting the pavement, collecting pledges, and rallying together for an incredible cause. With the support of our friends, families, customers, and community, we’re thrilled to share that we raised nearly $19,000—with 100% of proceeds going directly to CTC.
This incredible effort landed us the title of Top Fundraising Team at the event—and we couldn’t be more grateful. It’s truly amazing what can happen when a passionate team comes together for a greater purpose.
A huge THANK YOU goes out to everyone who supported the HB Heroes team with donations, encouragement, and cheers along the way. Your generosity is making a real difference for the kids and families who rely on the vital services CTC provides.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s event and continuing to be part of the positive change happening right here in Chatham-Kent.

Mitch has been a valued member of the Handy Bros. team for over 9 years. He began his journey in the installation department, quickly rising through the ranks into management, where he successfully led multiple departments. In 2018, Mitch and his brother Nic took ownership of Handy Bros., continuing the legacy with a fresh vision—Home Comfort Done Differently. Mitch is happily married to his beautiful wife, Jessica, and is a proud, devoted father. Outside of work, he’s passionate about health and fitness, and has a deep appreciation for delicious Portuguese cuisine. When it comes to travel, anywhere in Southern Europe is his happy place.
A couple weeks ago, we had the absolute joy of being the “Mystery Reader” for a group of bright and curious kindergarteners! We read them a fun story, shared a bit about what we do here at Handy Bros., and answered all of their awesome questions.
There’s something so special about seeing the wonder in young minds and hearing how they think—so full of curiosity and imagination. We’re grateful for opportunities like this to connect with the next generation!

Why is customer service so terrible these days?
You’re the one paying for a service, but somehow you end up doing all the chasing. You have to keep reminding companies to send a quote, carve out hours of your day for huge time windows, and half the time—they don’t even show up on time… or at all.
Then they leave, and you’re left cleaning up after them, just hoping the job was done right.
