The Handy Bros. Heroes Were Proud to Participate in the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Ontario!
This past weekend, the Handy Bros. Heroes took the plunge—literally! We were proud to brave the cold and join our incredible Chatham-Kent community for the Polar Plunge, all in support of Special Olympics Ontario.
The event was filled with energy, excitement, and a powerful sense of togetherness as people from all over CK came together for a great cause. From the icy splash to the warm smiles, every moment was a reminder of the strength of our community and the importance of supporting inclusive opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
As a family-run company rooted in Chatham-Kent, giving back has always been part of who we are. The Polar Plunge wasn’t just a fun challenge—it was a chance to stand (and shiver) in solidarity with the incredible athletes who inspire us every day.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated, or cheered us on. Together, we made a difference—and we’re already looking forward to next year!

Mitch has been a valued member of the Handy Bros. team for over 9 years. He began his journey in the installation department, quickly rising through the ranks into management, where he successfully led multiple departments. In 2018, Mitch and his brother Nic took ownership of Handy Bros., continuing the legacy with a fresh vision—Home Comfort Done Differently. Mitch is happily married to his beautiful wife, Jessica, and is a proud, devoted father. Outside of work, he’s passionate about health and fitness, and has a deep appreciation for delicious Portuguese cuisine. When it comes to travel, anywhere in Southern Europe is his happy place.

Steve has been a dedicated part of the Handy Bros. family for nearly 19 years—and what a legacy he’s built! He’s a proud husband, father, and the proud owner of his very own family farm.
But that’s not all—when he’s not working at Handy Bros. or tending to the farm, Steve also serves his community as an on-call firefighter. Talk about dedication!
