Day 6 is finally here! We’re at the half-way point of the Handy Bros Heroes 12 Days of Giving project! Today we are excited to partner with Honey Electric, another great local company here in Chatham-Kent. Without hesitation, these guys jumped on board to help us out!

Charlene is a single mother and recent cancer survivor who has given so much to this community. Lately, it seems as if she has been dealt a bad hand. On top of many issues, Charlene has been living in fear in her own house due to the main breaker being weak. Often the breaker trips leaving her without hydro, sometimes spoiling food, and always causing her to worry. The Handy Bros Heroes wanted to take this stress and pressure off of her and give her the peace she deserves.

There’s times in everyone’s lives, no matter who you are, when you find yourself in a low spot, needing a helping hand. That’s just part of being human. No matter what you see, you never truly know what someone is going through. So look around, there are needs all around us. If you have the ability to help someone, do so. You could be the answer when they need it most.

We were so excited to partner with our very own HandyBros Hero, Steve Blackburn. Not only is he part of our HandyBros Family, but he’s the proud owner of “Gedrrdun Acres” too. He’s a local farm boy with a heart of gold. raising chickens for years, and this year he is choosing to donate 14 of them to those in need. We were so thrilled when he came to us with this idea of giving back! Steve is a genuine, kind, and caring individual… but most of all, he’s got heart. That is what real heroes are made of!

Due to COVID, the number of those who are homeless has sky rocketed. They need our help more than ever, for those simple things we take for granted every single day. We wanted to get these chickens into the hands of those who needed it most …and thanks to ROCK Missions, that was made possible.

Day 8 is here! Today we partnered with Churrascaria to bring lunch to the winning class of the “kindness” campaign. Congratulations to Mr. Amato’s class at St. Angela Merici Catholic School, you are so deserving!
Out of all the businesses effected by COVID, restaurants have taken one of the biggest hits. Thankfully, Brian and Mel have been able to adapt, making the best of such an unfortunate situation. Even after all the ups and downs of this past year, after all the challenges, they still make it a priority to give back. If that’s not truly telling of who they are, I’m not sure what is.

As leaders and parents, teaching kindness to our kids is one of the greatest things we can do. Our kids are our future! You see, heroes aren’t born… they’re made.

Day 9 is finally here!! Today the HandyBros Heroes are partnering with Rumble Homes to take a load off a family in need!

The guys at Rumble homes, do so much more than just build custom houses. They have a heart for the community of Chatham-Kent and are always looking for ways to give back.

Today we’re announcing how we are going to help a special family in the new year. Allison is a single mom who lost her husband to ALS. She is constantly caring for her son Wyatt, his needs require her full attention. Wyatt has cerebral palsy and is in a wheel chair full time. Having no support, Allison had been struggling to find a way to get this much needed wheelchair ramp. Without it, Wyatt can’t get outside. After meeting this family, we knew this was something we had to do.

Today, the HandyBros Heroes and Rumble homes are pledging to take care of the ramp for this family. This is something that they really need, and something they will use for years to come.

It’s day 10 of our “12 Days of Giving” and today was a day to remember! Our Heroes had a ton of fun on the farm, having another creative day of giving back!

Visiting J&E meats, touring the farm and seeing how they operate day to day was a very unique experience! They truly offer something special for their clients out here. We are excited to partner with them once again to inspire change!

Today, our act of giving comes in the form of a grocery haul. We’ve loaded up bags with J&E high quality meats and are heading to the grocery store to fill our carts! There are so many people going through incredibly tough times, something as simple as a grocery haul and some gift cards can can really help someone out. Nobody likes to admit when they are struggling, and due to privacy reasons, we were happy to simply fill this couples fridge and freezer with food. Having both lost their jobs recently because of closure, this couple could use a helping hand. That’s what our heroes are here for.
